don’t you just hate it when …

Wow it’s been a very tiring week. I am only in University for three days but the lectures are so intense, they drain me out. Four hours a day of lectures and lab work is hardly anything, but we are learning so much that by the end of the day I literally go home and collapse. Oh well I have to suck it up and one be thankful I am not working everyday and two, I am not in everyday. :dead:

Don’t you just hate it when you make a fool of yourself? Someone was asking me a question about how to log into this university academic site and I said you need your id and certain pin not your everyday password, when someone else said I thought you only need our id and everyday password and I believing that I was right was very adamant that you needed this pin. And well I think you can guess who was right, I sent this poor guy on a wild goose chase to get this pin he didn’t even need! When I came home and logged in I saw that it was our password, I felt like such a fool and I had to say sorry. Darn Firefox and the remember passwords! :whater:

Oh I have a question, is it worth upgrading to Vista? I have XP and I like but I am just wondering if it’s worth upgrading. Then again I am also wondering if I should get a Mac, I do a lot of multimedia so I was considering getting one but I have heard from one person that they are the answer to all our prayers, to someone else saying they are good but in reality they just look good and overpriced and from someone who referred to them along with words of evil and the devil. Hmm decisions, decisions.

Thanks for all the comments on the layout.

[edit] I couldn’t help myself, I just had to get http://hkarim.net/ for a portfolio site and http://sap-a-licious.net/ - well I need a network site … *hides* Eek, now to make layouts for them both. [/edit]

    Vista:
It’s not worth spending a couple hundred bucks on an OS for a computer with a perfectly running system already. Do you have programs that are Vista-dependent? Probably not. So why make the jump when you don’t have to? Now, if you get a new computer, it will already have Vista installed, meaning you have a new computer and you saved yourself a few hundred bucks.

    Get a Mac:
    * It will cost you three times as much as it would to get a PC
    * You get excellent graphic quality
    * You get about a fifth of the programs available to PCs
    * It comes in pretty colors
    * Most of your website viewing will seriously change because MacFireFox and Safari live on their own terms
    * Where’s the right mouse button?

In other words: Stay away from Macs.

long lectures always wear me off, likewise. you ever wonder how you get so tired when all you have to do is sit still? :irritated: 4 hours is too long.

    XP is fine!

I’m not in university yet…will be in 2 years so I don’t have the privilege of listening to a lecture yet. :cute:
I am very clueless when it comes to PCs and Macs. I didn’t even know the difference until my friends told me a while ago and from what I hear, Macs just look pretty. That’s about it. :thinkin:

I advise you not to upgrade to Vista. I’ve heard so many bad things about it, it’s not even funny. Although I don’t know much about the systems themselves, I know that everything has to be compatible to Vista if you are using Vista. My friend has been having a lot of problems with it.

I’ve heard so iffy things about Vista so I wouldn’t suggest it. The only good thing about it is that it looks good. I find some of the programs confusing to operate. I’m still using XP and satisfied.

Hm… I’ve heard Vista can go both ways, good or bad. I’m using XP on a computer which I share with my whole family, so an upgrade for my old-school parents would probably make them explode. Same goes for Macs. I’ve used PCs all my life so… I can’t say I know much about Macs. But from the ones I have used, I’ve had good experience with them. Once I get a personal laptop/computer I will probably either get a Mac or one with Vista.

Yeah…University is a bit overwhelming at first. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.

And I have to disagree with the previous comments–macs are built for performance and I absolutely love mine  . It’s simple to use, efficient, and I know I haven’t had any problems with performance. Sure, the MacBook Pro’s cost a bit more than a Dell, but you’re getting a much better computer for your money in my opinion. Plus I’ve never had problems getting programs. Wait…so I don’t have MS paint. Whoops! Like I needed that :dead:

I’d stay away both from Vista and Macs. Vista is too complicated, Macs are simply too expensive and, sadly, during the years, they’d become more of a status symbol than something people need. I am a designer and I was fantasizing about one, but when I realised how much it’d cost me…I’d rather mess with my slow programs on WinXP, seriously.

And ouch…if that guy isn’t angry with you, then he has nerves. I’m guilty of something similar, but people did get angry with me afterwards. You’re lucky!

Don’t get a MAC. You can’t even right click on that bitch. It’s so frustrating! :annoyed:
